Sky rent by lightening,

ears rent by thunder;

now fear fights logic,

seems to be winning.

world torn asunder,

air all electric.

Torrential rain,

falls on the sane

and in- alike;

there goes the dyke

now inundation

of precipitation.

Skies open wide,

together we hide

beneath the covers,

holding each other,

striving hard to flout

the tempest without;

false grit of grownups

‘fraid to be shown up

by force of nature.

The nomenclature

would be fraidy-cat;

hey wait, where was that?

A tremendous crack

that sounded so near,

heart almost attacked;

I’m sure glad you’re here.
